Curators read hundreds of pitches a week. A pitch that says only "this is my best song" tells them nothing they can use to decide, and gets skipped.
What a real pitch includes
Genre, mood, language, the story behind the song, and specifically why it fits the tone of the playlist you're pitching to. Specificity is what makes a pitch memorable.
Skip the hype, add context
Instead of "this track is fire", explain what inspired it, who it's for, and what makes it different from your last release. Curators are evaluating fit, not enthusiasm.
Include momentum, if you have it
Pre-save numbers, early streaming data or notable engagement gives a curator confidence there's already an audience responding, reducing the perceived risk of featuring you.
Keep it short
A tight, well-organized pitch reads faster than a long one and respects a curator's time, aim for a few clear sentences, not a full press release.
The goal of a pitch isn't to convince a curator your song is good, it's to give them everything they need to make that judgment themselves, quickly.
